eCanteen offers online payment processing through a specifically designed system for school canteens. We take care of the technical side of running an online ordering system, offering a support helpdesk, and processing the daily order payments on your behalf. Money from your canteen sales are transferred to a nominated bank account weekly.
To run eCanteen there is no need to purchase any specialized software, servers or equipment. The only equipment you require is a computer that can access our website and printer of your choice.
Using eCanteen is at no cost to the canteen provider. There is no subscription fee, or lock in contracts. Unlike other systems, there is no requirement for parents to pay large sums of money up front to be able to place an order. The cost for the system is passed onto parents through a small processing fee that is applied when placing an order. The fee is 10% of total purchase plus a 30 cent transaction fee (this transaction fee goes directly to PayPal).
As a canteen manager you would be provided with canteen management interface on eCanteen which provides you with tools that allow you to view and print your canteens orders, manage and edit your menu, view a financial overview of your schools orders, and management of school closure dates. Parents are able to sign their students up themselves, meaning no extra work for you in setting up student profiles.

For years now, eCanteen has been making canteen ordering easy, convenient and available at any time of the day. To help schools promote healthier options available on their canteen menu, we've added the ability for canteen managers to indicate the health classification of each menu item, to help parents make an informed decision when selecting items for their orders.
Available in the canteen menu editor area, an indicator from the red, amber and green food health traffic light system can be selected. The selected indicator will be clearly display next to the item on the school menu for parents. Each of the three different indicator options are described below, as documented by the Healthy Eating Advisory Service of Victoria.

eCanteen is an online order processing system for schools. It can be used on any device without the need for installation. It is mobile compatible as a free simple app installed from the website without any need of an app store.

Manage your own students
Your account allows you to create profiles for multiple students across multiple schools (should those schools be using the eCanteen online ordering system). This stores the details of your students and allows you to process orders for one or more children in a single transaction, rather than having to place individual orders for each student.
Order up to a week in advance
Not only does eCanteen allow you to order for multiple students, it also allows for you to place all your orders for the current week. Cut off times are set by your school’s canteen, so please check to make sure you complete your order for a day before the cut off time.
eCanteen is making it even easier for school canteens to promote healthier options, allowing schools to optionally select a health classification for each item which enables parents to make an informed decision about the items that they are adding to their child's lunch order.
Easy, secure payment
All payments are processed by PayPal. PayPal is a trusted payment processing site which gives you security in knowing your details are securely stored, so you don’t have to enter them every time. PayPal allows you to use either a credit card or bank account and keeps a record of all payments made.
